Evidently secession is “in”. Ann Althouse gives her take here. I’m sure Ann and Volokh will detail their take on why these numbers are so high. Constitutionally, I’m sure the idea of secession is a dead end street. However, I’m sure that many are enamored with the “go it alone” ideal America is famous for. I dunno how any one state thinks it would be able to stand alone though.
